Ethical Tourism to the Elephant's Home in Kanchanaburi (Day Trip from Bangkok)

★★★★★★★★★★

Amazing Day with Elephants

Kachain picked us up at the hotel early in the morning and we headed to Kanchanaburi. First stop was the war cementary. Had lunch at an amazing cafe amidst the rice fields outside the city - most peaceful and quiet place of our entire trip (which is a boon after some days in Bangkok). Then to the elephant's home. The elephants can roam the area mostly free, are not tied and are not forced to anything against their will. All they "have" to do all day is eating, mudding and swimming. Compared to other elephant facilites we saw on Koh Samui, this is truly heaven. And you can enjoy it with them! You can literally feed, play in the mud and swim (!!) with the elephants. A fascinating and amazing experience to get so close to these giants.

Overall, Kachain was the best guide we ever had. He took best care of us, provided delicious food and was a great conversational partner.

Would definitely book again, worth every penny/cent/baht.

Kanchanaburi: Elephant Sanctuary, Death Railway & WWII Tour

★★★★★★★★★★

Fantastic trip, would thoroughly recommend Chain as a great local (Kanchanaburi) guide.

Chain picked me up on time in Bangkok, and took me across to Kanchanaburi. As a local to this town, he knew all the places to go, and we even jumped onto his bicycles to get a real feel for the town!
